300 years of The Welch Regiment

2019 saw The Royal Welsh regiment commemorate the 300thanniversary of the formation of the 41stRegiment of Foot, later The Welch Regiment. A new exhibition showcases 300 years of regimental history that transformed an army of Invalids into a modern infantry regiment.

This exhibition forms part of entry to Cardiff Castle.

Talks and Living History

For the duration of the Welsh Museums Festival Week, the Firing Line will be hosting a different talk every day on various themes including the history of guns, swords and helmets; as well as a talk highlighting Royal connections to the military in the United Kingdom.

Come and enjoy some living history throughout the week as members of the Firing Line team dress in military uniforms spanning the last 300 years.
