What do you have planned to celebrate St David’s Day?

Our wonderful museums are providing fantastic events this St David’s Day weekend. All listed museums are part of the Wales History Trails Passport Challenge, where you can win headphones and National Trust family day passes up until 14 April.

Get involved! Visit a Museum! Here are a few ideas.

National Wool Museum

On Saturday 2 March, enjoy a fun-filled day of crafts and join Tudur Phillips for some cool clog dancing, games and more! In partnership with Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr and Cylch Meithrin Drefach Felindre, the first session starts at 10.30am with the final session starting 2pm.

Carmarthenshire Museums

Also on Saturday 2 March, Carmarthenshire Museum, in Abergwili, along with all Carmarthenshire museums, will be hosting drop-in family activities to celebrate St David’s Day.

Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw

Why not visit the Cefyn Burgess: Cwlwm Gwlân exhbitiion? You have until 17 March to catch this collection that awakens memories, evokes nostalgia and triggers discussions about the community and the people who made up the community – the way of life, the traditions and the chapels that were such an important part of the life of generations of Welsh communities.

MOMA Machynlleth

You have until 16 March to catch Robert Havard’s Rhondda Burning exhibition, where paintings and poems mirror one another, reflecting on life in the eponymous valley or in the area around Cardigan Bay, with its wide horizons. Elegant, deft and vital, this collection is an embodiment of people, places and communities that invite us to listen and see.

Lambcam 2024

If you can’t make it to your local museum, then follow all the action every day live from the lambing shed at St Fagans National Museum of History.  Join the team online, from 1 until 22 Marchbetween 8am and 8pm, as they celebrate the start of Spring with their annual baby boom!
